Successor to CACC re-opens second airport discussion
The first meeting of the new Commercial Aviation Work Group was held on July 11, 2024 in Tumwater. This group, created by HB1791 is the successor to the ill-fated Commercial Aviation Coordinating Committee (CACC) which ended last year after failing to identify any path to a second airport to meet regional capacity.
The meeting was mainly to introduce the new membership. There was a large number of public commenters–many from the earlier version ‘the CACC’, whose interest is in not having a second airport in their neighborhood.
Their next public hybrid (in-person and online) meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 3 at the Capital Event Center in the Thurston Room at 6005 Tyee Dr SW, Tumwater, WA 98512.
