Research Requests

This page is for you if:

  • You have tried searching for a particular document and cannot find what you’re looking for.
  • You are interested in receiving a certain collection of documents that you can’t get with individual searches.
  • You would like to get updates when certain types of dynamic information are updated.
  • You are looking for a particular set of data via our various Stats pages and received an error message.

Why you can’t find things…

As of August 2022, we have scanned over 200,000 pages, 4,000 hours of video and audio, and decades of flight tracks, noise measurements and other logged data from the Port of Seattle and FAA recorders. Currently, less than 25% of that information has been indexed and thus made visible on the little Search Box at the top of every page.

We also have a storage room with about the same quantity of ‘stuff’ waiting to be assimilated into The Collective.

This process would go a lot faster if we had more people willing to volunteer to scan and properly index all of it. If that sounds like you? Please volunteer.

What we owe you…

Nada. Nichts. Bupkus. Nothing. We are not a public agency. We are under absolutely no obligation to do anything at any time for any price and we offer no guarantees or warranties of any kind. If the quantity of information you’re interested in is substantial, we will send you a price quote.

If you are receiving an error when attempting to run our various Stats apps, we are (usually) happy to provide the dataset, via secure file transfer, but we will also ask you to help us troubleshoot the issue. Over 99% of the time, these errors are bandwidth issues. Your computer/connection is slow, our server/ connection is slow. In other words, you are asking a very tiny and under-powered organization to do a whole lot of data crunching.

On the other hand, donating a few dollars to help us improve our data servers would be most welcome.
