Strong support from 4 members and now goes to Ways And Means. However, the substitute bill–authored by Claudia Kaufmann (D)47th–is significantly different from the original.
The original bill would have been funded by 1% of Tax Levy ($867,000 in year 1) for Port Package Updates… then went on to a laundry list of other environmental issues… indoor air quality, monitoring, tree canopy, etc.
The passed Substitute Bill sets aside $10M from State money in year one, then asks for up to $10M per year thereafter taken from sales tax (not Tax Levy) on Port capital projects. And the monies are strictly for Port Package Updates; none of the other original asks.
