Highline Forum March 26, 2025

Meeting of regional electeds to spotlight Sound Insulation Repair & Replacement Pilot Program

Article Summary:

The next Highline Forum will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 2:30–4:30 PM, hosted by the City of Federal Way. The meeting will be held in hybrid format—both in-person at Federal Way City Hall Council Chambers (directions) and virtually via Microsoft Teams.

The meeting’s theme is especially relevant for impacted communities:
Sound Insulation Repair & Replacement Pilot Program

Presentation at 3:00 PM

Ryan McMullan, Senior Manager, Aviation Noise Programs at the Port of Seattle, will present on the Port’s approach to dealing with failed Noise Remedy Program systems—particularly homes that received federally funded sound insulation decades ago and are now experiencing issues such as window failures, mold, or mechanical breakdowns.

Residents and cities have long pushed for a systematic, funded response to this growing problem. This pilot program may represent the Port’s first steps toward acknowledging and addressing those needs.
