    Grid 5: 2013 Baseline Map

This aerial map depicts the area surrounding Sea-Tac Airport, covering portions of Burien, Tukwila, and unincorporated King County in Washington State. It highlights key landmarks including Southern Heights Elementary School, Hilltop Elementary School, Rainier Golf and Country Club, and Glen Acres Country Club, along with major roadways such as SR 99, SR 599, and Des Moines Memorial Drive S. A purple corridor overlay traces what appears to be a noise-impact or flight-path study boundary through residential neighborhoods near the airport.

    Grid 4: 2013 Baseline Map — Sea-Tac Airport Area

This aerial map shows the area surrounding Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, including the cities of Burien and SeaTac, with runway designations 16R, 16C, and 16L marked along the western edge. Two colored flight-path or noise-contour lines — one purple and one gold — are overlaid on the map, tracing routes that extend east through residential neighborhoods, parks such as Sunset Park and North SeaTac Softball Fields, and past landmarks including Glacier High School. The map appears to be part of a noise or flight-path policy study documenting how aircraft departure and arrival corridors affect surrounding communities along SR 518 and adjacent streets.

Second reading and final passage of resolution no. 3662 – woodinville subdivision property transfer to king county

In June 2012, the Port of Seattle Commission considered a resolution to sell portions of the Woodinville Subdivision rail corridor (also known as the Eastside Rail Corridor) to King County for $15 million, minus closing costs and a $1.9 million credit. The sale was part of a broader regional agreement among the Port, King County, Sound Transit, the City of Redmond, Cascade Water Alliance, and Puget Sound Energy to transfer the former BNSF Railway corridor into public ownership for future trail and transportation uses. The resolution also authorized a permanent easement granting King County rights over part of the Port's freight section of the corridor for recreational trail purposes.

2008 King County Community Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory: “Geographic Plus” Methodology

This 2011 report by the Stockholm Environment Institute estimates King County, Washington's greenhouse gas emissions for 2008 using a 'geographic plus' methodology, covering sources such as transportation, buildings, industry, and waste. Total emissions reached approximately 23.4 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent in 2008, a 5% increase from 2003, with transportation accounting for roughly half of all emissions. The findings were used by King County and its partners to identify major emission sources and develop strategies to meet community greenhouse gas reduction goals.

As the source for federal transportation grants, the Puget Sound Regional Council was charged with developing a system to meet the growing need for commercial aviation. When the search for a second airport failed, they authorized the Port of Seattle to build the Third Runway, with a mandate to develop a noise abatement and mitigation program. In their effort to stop the Third Runway, the ACC argued over every detail of the Port's efforts--including property buyouts and sound insulation. The dispute was meant to be settled by a three member Expert Arbitration Panel. This is their final report. It finds 2-1, that the Port's program was insufficient in several respects. Despite that, funding for the Third Runway was approved by the PSRC, and the 'Port Package' program, proceeded largely unchanged. Expert Arbitration Panel's final decision finding that the Port of Seattle had not shown sufficient reduction in real on-the-ground noise impacts to satisfy noise reduction conditions required for approval of a third runway at Sea-Tac International Airport. The majority decision concluded the Port's noise abatement programs were insufficient despite being impressive in scope.
