In May 1979, Jeanne Zalud of Des Moines, WA applied to serve as a citizen representative on the Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) for the Sea-Tac Communities Plan, citing her community involvement and knowledge of the S.T.C.P. The Zone 3 Steering Committee responded in July 1979, acknowledging her application but informing her that further action on PAC representation had been postponed until January 1980. The committee expressed its position that proper citizen representation on the PAC should come from residents of the affected communities, with north and south representatives drawn from noise remedy areas and east and west from land use areas. -

Zoning Map: North Sea-Tac Park Area, February 1979
This is a zoning map dated February 1979 for section W 16-23-4, showing land use designations—primarily RS-7200 (single-family residential) and A.O.U. (Airport Operations Use) zones—in the area south of S. 128th Street near Seattle-Tacoma Airport. Handwritten annotations raise questions about passive park designations, proposed AOC/AOU classifications near Tub Lake, buffer distances (50-foot and 45-foot buffers are noted), and the status of an RS-7200 trailer storage site. The notes suggest an active policy review regarding how airport-related zoning categories and noise buffers should be applied to residential and transitional parcels in this neighborhood. -

Dana, a citizen participant in the Sea Tac Communities Plan, also submits a statement praising the collaborative community planning effort and urging the Port of Seattle and King County to formally adopt the Plan without delay. She calls for continued monitoring of airport noise programs and stresses that residents who engaged in good faith throughout the process deserve a finalized, implemented plan. -

Safety Has Always Been An Issue – Notes on Organizations and Land Acquisition
Safety has always been an issue at Sea-Tac Airport, with the S.T.C.P., FAA, King County, and P.O.S. acknowledging concerns through their acceptance of ADAP funds for the Interim Land Acquisition. Residents acquired in the acquisition were never given the option of staying or moving, as the area was designated a safety zone where no residences would be allowed to remain. A separate note on the reverse raises questions about the Kellogs and others connected to the matter.
