Hart Crowser, Inc. letter report (project J-2359, May 3, 1989) to Weyerhaeuser Aviation, Sea-Tac International Airport, attn. William Smith, presenting results of three monitoring well installations (WY-1, WY-2, WY-3) near underground fuel storage tanks at 17590 Starling Drive South, Seattle, Washington 98158. Wells were drilled at least 5 feet below tank bottoms; soil samples collected at 5-foot-depth intervals and screened for petroleum product contamination using visual evidence, odor, and H-Nu photoionization detector organic vapor headspace measurements. Field screening indicated no detectable petroleum product concentrations. Soils consisted of hard gravelly sandy SILT underlain by dense to very dense silty gravelly SAND to 18.5 feet depth; groundwater not encountered. Installation was for compliance with Port of Seattle NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit. Administrative Record exhibit AR025026, PCHB Third Runway EIS proceeding.
