Notes
Draft memorandum (AR024967) from Doug Henderson and Linda Logan (project number 556-2912-001), dated April 2000, summarizing Round 2 range-finding water-effect ratio (WER) toxicity tests for copper in streams receiving STIA stormwater. Tests used Daphnia magna as indicator species, with copper spiked into site waters from Miller Creek Upstream, Miller Creek Detention Facility, Northwest Ponds Outlet, Northwest Ponds Inlet, and Des Moines Creek Weir. Samples collected during a qualifying storm event on 15 April 2000; flow-weighted composites collected by Taylor Associates using ISCO samplers. Copper test concentrations prepared from copper sulfate pentahydrate (CuSO4·5H2O, CAS#7758-99-8), 500 mg/L stock solution verified by Battelle. LC50 values in synthetic laboratory water and site water compared to calculate WER per EPA/600/4-90/027F (August 1993). Tests conducted at Parametrix toxicology laboratory. Filed in PCHB Third Runway EIS administrative record.
