EXH 288: First Avenue Bridge Fill Source Data Summary

This document summarizes soil contamination test results for fill material taken from the First Avenue Bridge site, collected between October 1999 and May 2000. Samples were tested for petroleum hydrocarbons (diesel and heavy oil ranges) as well as RCRA 8 metals and other contaminants, with results indicating varying levels of heavy oil detected across samples. The table notes which soil samples were ultimately placed at the Third Runway construction site at Sea-Tac Airport, with several samples excluded due to contamination concerns.

Notes

Exhibit 288 (AR 019667) summarizes fill source data from the First Avenue Bridge used in connection with the Third Runway construction at Sea-Tac Airport. Table lists samples 001–008 WSDOT (collected October 1999) and 1st Ave 21–23 (May 1, 2000) and Samples 1–6 (May 25, 2000), with NW-TPH Dx (Diesel) mg/kg and NW-TPH DX or HCID (Heavy Oil) mg/kg values, RCRA 8 Metals analyses, Lead analyses, and NW-TPH HCID Gasoline analyses. Indicates which samples were placed at the Third Runway. Sample 005 WSDOT had NW-TPH Heavy Oil at 870 mg/kg and was not placed at Third Runway. Samples 006–008 WSDOT (NW-TPH Heavy Oil 200–310 mg/kg) also not placed. 1st Ave 21–23 not placed per discussions with Tom Madden of WSDOT. PCHB Third Runway EIS administrative record document.
