Notes
Front and Centered advocacy fact sheet for the CURB (Cumulative Risk Burden) Pollution Act in Washington State. The act requires consideration of cumulative pollutants affecting health in pollution permitting, specifies protections for disproportionately harmed communities, requires lead agencies to deny permit applications for new facilities adding cumulative pollution effects, and elevates frontline community participation in permit evaluations. Builds on the Healthy Environmental for All (HEAL) Act already passed in Washington State. Addresses environmental justice, redlining, institutional racism, and cumulative health risk burdens. Contact: Guillermo Rogel, Jr., Legislative Advocate, Front and Centered coalition.
