US Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District Second Revised Public Notice (Reference 1996-4-02325, dated 27 December 2000, expiration 16 February 2001) for Department of the Army permit under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. Port Of Seattle applicant (contact Elizabeth Leavitt) proposes to fill 50 wetlands totaling 18.37 acres and temporarily impact 12 wetlands totaling 2.05 acres at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (STIA) in the Miller Creek, Walker Creek, and Des Moines Creek watersheds, SeaTac, King County, Washington, to construct an 8,500-foot parallel third runway. Work includes filling 14.23 acres of wetlands, relocating the South 154th/S. 156th Way bridge, excavating 1.10 acres for onsite borrow sources, constructing Runway Safety Areas (RSAs), and filling 2.78 acres for the South Aviation Support Area (SASA).
