Letter dated August 18, 2000 from Keith R. Smith, Water Resources Manager at Port Of Seattle (Seattle-Tacoma International Airport), to Jillian Hoyt of Seattle Public Utilities, regarding the Des Moines Creek Basin Plan Flow Augmentation Facility. The Port seeks to purchase water from SPU as an alternate supply for the proposed flow augmentation facility, which aims to maintain in-stream flow of one cubic foot per second and temperatures of 16 degrees Celsius or less during summer months. Attached implementation plan describes a Port-owned well with 400 gallons-per-minute water right, 8-inch PVC pipe conveyance, monitoring station at existing weir, and variable speed pump controls. Participants include cities of SeaTac and Des Moines, King County, Port Of Seattle, and Washington Department of Transportation on the Des Moines Creek Basin Planning Committee.
