Notes
Citizens’ Alternatives to Sea-Tac Expansion (CASE Group) history document, No Third Runway Coalition flyer, and petition to the Governor of Washington and the Washington State Legislature. CASE Group originated in Fall 1987 when Port Of Seattle hinted at plans for a third runway at Sea-Tac Airport; 500-person public hearing turnout and 4600-signature petition led King County Council to pass a resolution against a third runway. The 1992 flyer calls on citizens to attend a hearing on February 13, 1992 at the Red Lion Inn (18740 Pacific Highway South), write Port Commissioners Jack Block, Paige Miller, Paul Schell, Gary Grant, and Pat Davis (P.O. Box 1209, Seattle, WA 98111), and contribute to the No Third Runway Coalition (Sea-Tac Airport Action Committee/Citizens’ Alternatives to Sea-Tac Expansion). The petition requests the Governor and Washington State Legislature to reject recommendations of the Puget Sound Air Transportation Committee and instead build a regional airport removed from urban centers, with zoning prohibiting residential uses in noise areas 55 LDN or above. Contact persons: Jeanne Moeller (878-3319), Bob Sweigart (242-6112), Kathy Parker (241-1619). Chairman David F. Smith, P.O. Box 48171, Seattle, WA 98166.
