The committee discussed zoning changes, tax relief, noise abatement, and the community survey, deciding to submit recommendations to directly relevant task forces. The group established its main goal as supporting the Port Of Seattle’s 90-day Interim Study for property acquisition in the extended clear zone, to be financed in part by the FAA and other funding sources for noise-impacted areas. Letters were sent to U.S. Senators Warren Magnuson and Henry M. Jackson requesting funds for interim and later acquisition of serious noise-impacted property.
