Notes
Memorandum dated December 12, 2001 from Michael Kenrick and Reese Hastings of Hart Crowser Inc. to Jim Thomson of HNTB, project number 4978-62, analyzing pre-construction and post-construction hydrologic conditions at Borrow Area 1 associated with the Port of Seattle Master Plan Update for Sea-Tac International Airport (STIA). Covers surface water and groundwater impacts, wetland hydrology, Des Moines Creek base flow effects, glacial till and advance outwash soil stratigraphy, and the 116-acre borrow site located northwest of South 216th Street and 24th Avenue South straddling Des Moines and SeaTac city boundaries. Addresses 1.08 acres of on-site wetlands unavoidably impacted, preservation of upgradient surface drainage, and increased groundwater recharge via exposed outwash soils post-excavation. References FAA 1996 FEIS, PGG 2000 Washington State Department of Ecology hydrologic study, and prior Hart Crowser work on Borrow Areas 3 and 4.
