Notes
Conference paper submitted September 21, 2001 to Water Environment Federation for Watershed 2002 conference, authored on behalf of the Port Of Seattle regarding Sea-Tac Airport stormwater best management practice (BMP) screening. Tests filtration media — deciduous leaf compost (CSF®), soybean hulls (SBH), extra fine deciduous leaf compost (XFCSF), commercial inorganic polyamine sponge, and zeolite/perlite (ZP) — for removal of zinc and reduction of whole effluent toxicity (WET) from NPDES stormwater runoff. Methodology used Stormfilter™ cartridge units and bench-scale column tests with synthetic lab water spiked at 250, 500, and 2000 µg/L ZnCl2 at 90 mg/L hardness as CaCO3. AR 037221.
