The Airport Communities Coalition submits preliminary comments to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding the August 2000 Preliminary Comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Master Plan Update Improvements. The letter raises concerns about discrepancies in base flow impact analyses, cumulative impacts from future commercial development, inconsistencies between the SMP and the Natural Resource Mitigation Plan, and proposed changes to existing basin boundaries affecting Walker Creek and Miller Creek. The authors note they received the four-volume SMP only days before submission and object to the lack of adequate review time.
