Community meeting notes from Meeting #3 of the ‘Your 2¢ Worth’ series, recording responses to an Aesthetic Inventory questionnaire asking Sea-Tac area residents what is worth saving and what should be changed in their communities. Responses are organized by neighborhood group: Valley View, Riverton Heights, Des Moines, North Hill, Marvista, and Highline Community College. Topics include preserving Des Moines Way, Seahurst beach, Bow Lake, Normandy Cove Beach, trees, natural streams, lakes, Indian trails, the lighthouse at Three Tree Point, farms, and the Duwamish waterway. Complaints include airport noise, Port Of Seattle unresponsiveness, indiscriminate building in Burien, lack of sewers, dehumanizing parking lots, and rezoning. Proposed actions include comprehensive planning, tax breaks for aesthetically pleasing businesses, revision of building codes, noise abatement complaint filing against airlines, and government acquisition of green belt areas.
