Historic Property Inventory Report for Hillgrove Cemetery (Field Site No. 844, OAHP No. KI00889) at approximately 1651 S 200th St, Sea-Tac, WA 98188, Tax Parcel 0422049025, recorded by C. Sundberg on January 6, 2010. The 0.92-acre community cemetery, owned by the Hillgrove Cemetery Association c/o Jim Lingwood, was established c. 1900 on land donated by Fred Kinkling and designated a King County Community Landmark in 1982. The report describes approximately 350 burials dating from 1889 to 2001, grave markers of sandstone, granite, marble, concrete, and metal, 57 plots arranged in north-south rows, vandalism, neglect, and periodic restoration by Boy Scouts and school groups. Significant for association with early Highline/Des Moines area settlers including David Elsey, S. B. Vrooman, and Civil War veterans. Surveyed for the King County cemetery survey; property does not meet National Register of Historic Places criteria.
