Sea-Tac Communities Plan Fact Sheet No. 4, dated May 1, 1973, issued by the EDC Community Office (Burien, WA). Describes the Port Of Seattle Commission’s July 11, 1972 authorization to purchase property bounded by Sea-Tac Airport on the east, 12th Ave. So. on the west, 170th St. on the south, and SR 518 on the north. Acquisition financed 50% by Port Of Seattle and 50% by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under an expanded FAA runway side clearance ruling; area to be used as a buffer and safety zone from aircraft operations. FAA accepted Port Of Seattle plans in March 1973 but requested a second property evaluation (completion in 60–90 days). Washington State Highway Department contracted to conduct purchase and relocation process covering 163 parcels; relocation office at 1210–159th St. So., telephone 764-4230.
