Dwyer, Executive Director FROM: Dan Dingfield, Director of Development ·~~ Vern Ljungren, Director of Aviation SUBJECT: Recommended that the Port Commission Endorse the King County SeaTac Area Plan Update with certain qualifications . • Based on the public con®ent received and Commission direction provided to date, we are recommending the Port Commission endorse King County's 1987 SeaTac Area Plan Update with specific qualifications . These qualifications recommendations correspond to the four sections of the County Plan. -· . North SeaTac Park Plan The Port Commission endorses the development of a new park north of SeaTac International Airport on properties acquired by the Port for noise mitigation purposes . This park shall encompass those properties from So. 128th St . on the north to So. 142nd & 144th Streets on the south and from DesMoines Way So. on the western boundary to approximately 24th Avenue So.on the eastern boundary. Said park should be developed, operated, and maintained under King County' s jurisdiction . Said park should i ncorporate existing activities, services, and types of facilities and uses which have been of substantial benefit to the surrounding comnrunity and which have r esulted from community efforts . The Port shall receive some compensation of significance for trans ferring property rights to King County. Since the Port adopted the 1979 Park Plan and i s endorsing the current plan, King County should be…
