Port Packages (explained here) are the sound insulation systems installed by the Port of Seattle to over 9,400 single family homes and dozens of apartment buildings and schools under the flight path.
Unfortunately, many of those sound insulation systems developed any number of problems. This tag concerns efforts to obtain relief (including repair and replacement) since those problems were first identified back in the late 1990’s.
7-0 vote brings the Port Package Update bill within only a few steps of becoming law. At today’s Executive Session the House Local Government Committee voted unanimously to pass E2SB5955, with no amendments. It is now in the hands of the Capital Budget Committee.
