Press release and accompanying site analysis memo from Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC), dated May 27, 1994, identifying 12 candidate sites for a Major Supplemental Airport (MSA) in the four-county central Puget Sound region (King, Kitsap, Pierce, Snohomish counties). TAMS Consultants, Inc. screened 25 sites; 12 remain under consideration including Stanwood, Arlington, Marysville-West (Tulalip Indian Reservation), Marysville-East, Bothell/Mill Creek, Duvall, Redmond, Lake Sawyer, Enumclaw, McChord Air Force Base, Frederickson, and Tanwax Lake. Sites must accommodate a minimum 2,200-acre footprint with two independent runways up to 10,000 feet. The study memo describes the Site Search Area process, MSA planning criteria, and next steps: Working Group review June 24, Policy Boards joint session July 14, public comment period through August 26, and Executive Board decision.
