Minutes of the Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting held May 12, 1977, regarding Boeing Company’s proposal to establish its corporate headquarters building on the west side of Sea-Tac International Airport. Port Of Seattle representative Art Yoshioka presented the preliminary proposal, which required an amendment to the Sea-Tac/Communities Plan. Key discussion points included site requirements (~12 acres near the viewpoint park, between 173rd and 168th Streets east of 12th Avenue South), building height (3-4 stories, ~400 feet from 12th Avenue South), initial occupancy of 200-250 employees, underground parking, buffering requirements, no westerly access via 12th Avenue South, relocation of the viewpoint park, and Boeing’s three alternative sites under consideration. Attendees included Don Shay (POS), Jean Pihlman (Zone III), Highline Community Council, King County representatives Jack Lynch and Irv Berteig, FAA’s Robert O. Brown, Boeing representatives Harry Blangy and Don Davis, and King County Council member Paul Barden. Also discussed: Concorde operations rumors at Sea-Tac.
