Meeting summary of the Des Moines Aviation Advisory Committee (AAC) held April 9, 2018, chaired by City Manager Michael Matthias. Committee reviewed the April 5, 2018 City Council Study Session and set priorities including implementing a night flight curfew and engaging with the Port Of Seattle’s Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) community engagement process. Committee member Sheila Brush raised concerns that previous Port of Seattle community forums did not meaningfully include the most affected communities; the committee discussed drafting a letter to the Port Of Seattle and presenting at a Highline Forum meeting. Steve Edmiston and David Clark discussed keeping goals reasonable for Council. Next report to Council scheduled April 26, 2018; next AAC meeting May 14, 2018.
