Airport Communities Coalition (ACC) advocacy brochure opposing the Port of Seattle’s proposed third runway at Sea-Tac Airport. Argues that a third runway won’t stop flight delays caused by bad weather, is too physically constrained at Sea-Tac (citing Sea-Tac as one of the 100 largest U.S. airports operating on the smallest land area), and would be the costliest runway-construction project in the U.S., with Port estimates of $210–$500 million and real costs likely exceeding $500 million — involving purchase and destruction of 110 acres of privately owned land, 250 existing homes, and 14 million cubic yards of landfill. Proposes four alternatives: a major supplemental airport for the Puget Sound region, easing the commuter crunch (noting commuter passengers comprise only 9 percent of Sea-Tac operations but 40 percent of flights), peak-hour pricing, and high-speed rail.
