Annual report submitted by the Washington State Commercial Aviation Work Group (CAWG) to the Legislature per RCW 14.40.020, due December 1, 2024. Created under ESHB 1791 (2023), the Work Group held two meetings in 2024: July 11 at the Capital Event Center in Tumwater and October 3 online. Reports 13 of 19 Governor-appointed voting member positions filled as of October 3; staff support provided by WSDOT. Key topics include airport capacity investigation for the next 20 years, consideration of Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) military installation conflicts, and Governor Jay Inslee’s directive to prioritize expanding existing airports before siting a new airport (excluding Sea-Tac Airport).
