Notes
Port Of Seattle newsletter update No. 1 (Spring 1998) on the Sea-Tac Airport FAR Part 150 Aircraft Noise and Land Use Compatibility Study. Covers study elements including inventory of existing conditions, noise measurements, noise exposure impacts, noise reduction alternatives, land use alternatives, and recommended Noise Compatibility Plan. Describes Noise Exposure Maps produced using FAA Integrated Noise Model (INM), DNL contours from 55–75 dB DNL, and field noise measurements at ten semi-permanent monitoring sites (RMS-1 through RMS-11, EP-N1/N2, EP-S4/S5) around Sea-Tac Airport near Puget Sound. Reports on December 3, 1997 Open House at Highline High School and schedules second Open House for July 23, 1998 at Tyee High School, 4424 S. 188th Street, Seattle. Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC) and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings listed. Key community concerns include flight track adherence, sound insulation program boundaries, multi-family dwellings, ground noise (engine run-ups, reverse thrust), and noise overlap between Sea-Tac and Boeing Field.
