Notes
Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) prepared by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Division, Seattle, Washington, December 1989, assessing environmental effects of proposed alterations to arrival and departure air traffic routes at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac Airport). The EA addresses airspace inefficiencies caused by the requirement that turbojet aircraft landing to the south be routed through Elliott Bay, resulting in south arrival capacity of 42 aircraft per hour versus north arrival capacity of 56 aircraft per hour. Document discusses the Seattle ARTCC (Air Route Traffic Control Center), TRACON approach control facility, instrument operations, noise abatement procedures, and the Port of Seattle.
