Sewer services agreement with Midway Sewer District
The Port of Seattle is seeking approval to renew a sewer services agreement with Midway Sewer District, which has provided wastewater treatment to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport since 1963. The new 10-year agreement (with two 5-year extension options) replaces a 30-year contract expiring February 8, 2025, and covers treatment of sanitary, surface water, and industrial wastewater from airport operations at an estimated cost of $22 million. The renewal includes a one-time $1.6 million payment for facility upgrades and increased flow capacity from 2,500 to 3,200 gallons per minute to meet the airport's growing needs.
