Resolution 3032

A RESOLUTION of the Port Commission of the Port of Seattle amending Section IV of Resolution 3016 regarding the Noise Management Project for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle Commission by adoption of Resolution No. 3016 on September 8, 1987, agreed to address the issues of noise abatement at Seattle Tacoma International Airport by convening a committee to mediate and agree upon noise abatement solutions. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 3016 limited the ability of the negotiating committee to select a mediator; and WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle Commission now desires to allow the negotiating committee the right to select a mediator of their choice: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Port Commission of the Port of Seattle, Washington, that Section IV of Resolution No. 3016 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION IV. A Neutral Convener. A neutral convener shall be recommended to the Port Commission by the Joint Committee on Aircraft Overflights and retained for no more than a four-month period during which the convening process will be completed. The convener shall initiate a process of consultation whereby he or she shall be charged to ensure that all relevant parties are ably represented. convener shall then develop the actual constitution of the committee(s) in consultation with the participants.
