Highline Forum Agenda: 2016 Legislative & Policy Positions

The Soundside Alliance and Highline Forum, representing Southwest King County cities including Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, and Tukwila, jointly endorsed 10 legislative and policy priorities for 2016. These priorities spanned education funding, transportation infrastructure, and general government issues, including support for significant Sound Transit investments in Southwest King County through the proposed ST 3 package. The document reflects the regional coalition's shared agenda heading into the 2016 Washington State legislative session.

Final agenda and 2016 Legislative & Policy Positions document for the Highline Forum meeting hosted by the City of Burien on November 18, 2015, held at Burien City Hall, 400 SW 152nd Street, Council Chambers. The combined memberships of the Soundside Alliance and Highline Forum endorse 10 legislative and policy positions for Southwest King County covering education (community college funding shortfalls, K-12 McCleary reforms), transportation and infrastructure (SR 509, CERB, PWAA, TIB, Regional Mobility Grant Program, MTCA, Sound Transit ST3 light rail and bus rapid transit), and general government (public defense funding, Public Records Act reform, bank-owned home registries, mental health and homelessness funding, streamlined sales tax mitigation). Participating organizations include City of Burien, City of Des Moines, City of Normandy Park, City of SeaTac, City of Tukwila, Highline College, Highline Schools, and Port Of Seattle.
