Port of Seattle – Resolution 3482

A RESOLUTION of the Port Commission of the Port of Seattle, amending Resolution No. 3443, and authorizing Port staff to implement Section 3 : Land Use Alternatives: (3) Mobile Homes prior to final Federal Aviation Administration approval of the Federal Aviation Regulation Part 150 Study Update WHEREAS, residents in mobile home parks adjacent to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are significantly impacted by aircraft noise and it is not cost-effective to noise-insulate mobile homes, the recent Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 150 Study Update (Part 150 Study) recommended that the Port acquire the seven mobile home parks located within the 1998 DNL noise contour. WHEREAS, the Part 150 Study also recommended acquisition of residential properties within the Third Runway Approach Transition Zones (ATZs), including two of the seven mobile home parks recommended for acquisition in the Part 150 Study and located in Burien, Burien Gardens, 14239 Des Moines Memorial Drive, and Flora Vista, 1421 5 Des Moines Memorial Drive, with a total of 102 units, are inside the 1998 70 DNL noise contour and are among the residential properties located in the Third Runway's North ATZ. WHEREAS, Port staff has contacted City of Burien officials about proceeding with the acquisition of residential areas in the ATZs, have developed a communication plan, and initiated discussions with the two park owners. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Port Commission of the Port of Seattle that:
