Smith & Lowney law firm submits comments to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on behalf of Citizens Against Sea-Tac Expansion (CASE) opposing the Port of Seattle’s Section 404 Clean Water Act permit application. The letter argues the proposed discharge cannot be permitted because it would violate state water quality standards, toxic effluent standards for copper and zinc, and cause significant degradation of U.S. waters. The letter also argues the Corps must consider cumulative impacts of all current and proposed activities at Sea-Tac Airport, including secondary effects and projected growth.
