Article Summary:
11a. Central Services. It is the beginning of budget season. The Port Commission receives separate briefings on each of the sections of the empire. This meeting will discuss the small but mighty Central Services, which provides administrative services for the agency as a whole, including: Accounting, Human Resources, External Relations (lobbying), Legal, Police, Engineering, Construction Services and IT.
Of interest for airport communities is a discussion of community programs, all of which are funded by the Property Tax Levy, including the ILA fund for the City of SeaTac, Airport Community Ecology (ACE) and the South King County/Port Impact Fund.

The briefing also includes an early preview of the full budget discussion and a calendar of other budget briefings, including a separate review of all uses of the Tax Levy and its rate setting on October 28.
10a. More Power! Also of interest is the airport’s new sixteen year, $150,000,000 contract for electricity with Bonneville Power Administration. As we often say, Sea-Tac Airport is like a small city, and cities use a lot of energy.
What is not on the agenda: The SAMP. This means that the Sustainable Airport Master Plan EA will be revealed at either the October 14, or October 28 meetings.
