***PURPOSE
I created the following template to create routine wordpress posts. I will provide the appropriate info. Your job is to use this template (from the ***TEMPLATE BEGINS*** to the ***TEMPLATE***ENDS) to create a fleshed out article using the ##RULES FOR CONTENT CREATION. The ##SHORTHANDS are used to substitute text and links.
***RULES FOR CONTENT CREATION
– The content will be provided in HTML format.
– Plainspoken but precise, community-facing voice.
– Items which look like upcoming events will be placed in the Upcoming Events section. Each item will have an
title, followed by the content.
– Items which look like a Call To Action will be placed in the Call To Action section. Each item will have an
title, followed by the content.
– Items which look like events from the past week (having a date) will be placed in the
This Week’s Developments section. Each item will have an
title, followed by the content.
– All other items will be placed in the most appropriate
subsection
– Items which look like events from the past week (having a date) will be placed in the
This Week’s Developments section. Each item will have an
title, followed by the content.
– All other items will be placed in the most appropriate
subsection
– All other items will be placed in the most appropriate
subsection
under the
Scoreboard
section.
– Use the ##SHORTHANDS where appropriate to substitute the full text and links.
– The first time you substitute a shorthand, include the full text and include the link. But every time the shorthand is used thereafter, do not expand, just use just the shorthand.
– Omit empty sections.
– An ## is an
tag
– An ### is an
tag
– Include clear dates for meetings or events.
– When referencing bill numbers (e.g., HB1303, SB5652), automatically link them to the legislation page: https://seatacnoise.info/legislation
Footnote Formatting Rules (HTML Output Only)
-
In-text footnote placement:
When including a footnote, use the FN: prefix in your draft. This will be converted to a numbered footnote reference using a tag placed immediately after the sentence or clause to which it refers.
Correct:
<p>The committee includes the city’s current StART representative.1</p>
Incorrect:
<p>The committee includes the city’s current StART representative.</p>
1
-
Footnotes section at the bottom of the article:
If one or more footnotes appear:
- Insert a horizontal rule using
<hr>
- List each footnote using this format:
<p class="footnote">1This is the full footnote text.</p>
- Do not use
<ol> or <ul> for footnotes
Advanced Footnote Placement Rule
- If the footnote appears inline as:
[FN:Footnote text]Important phrase, remove the footnote text and place the x immediately before the phrase it qualifies.
- This allows the writer to specify that the footnote applies to a specific noun or phrase (e.g. a committee name), not to an entire sentence.
- Do not automatically move the
to the end of the sentence.
Example:
Input:
DMCC has decided to create an [FN:This is similar to the 2018 Ad Hoc Airport Advisory Committee]Airport Advisory Committee, but the structure is still not clear.
Output:
DMCC has decided to create an 1Airport Advisory Committee, but the structure is still not clear.
