The Port of Seattle Commission introduced Resolution No. 3767 in November 2019, establishing the Duwamish Valley Community Benefits Commitment Policy to guide the Duwamish Valley Community Equity Program (DVCEP). The policy targets three goals—building community and Port collaboration capacity, promoting a healthy environment, and supporting economic prosperity—for residents of the South Park and Georgetown neighborhoods, who have historically faced environmental and economic inequities linked to Port operations.
