Box 1209 Seattle, WA 98111 RE: DEIS - Sea-Tac International Airport Hotel Dear Ms. Hinkle: We appreciate the opportunity to comment on Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Sea-Tac International Airport Hotel. On behalf of the City of Normandy Park, I would like to take this opportunity to raise concerns about the need for this hotel facility and the effect it will have on airport services provided by the Port of Seattle to the residents of Normandy Park and the rest of King County who pay taxes to support it. The proposed facility may “promote the comfort and accommodation” of non-resident air travelers but it will only provide additional inconvenience and delay for the resident, tax-paying air travelers who must negotiate the traffic added by this hotel to the already congested enplane and deplane drives and who will have to search for already scarce parking spaces after existing parking capacity is carved out to accommodate hotel and conference related-vehicles . The writers of this DEIS have shown very little for regard for the City of SeaTac and its land use authority on non-essential airport facilities and no sense of responsibility to mitigate the parking impacts of this proposed facility.
