The Marine View Pit is operated by City Transfer Incorporated (CTI) and isa source of soil borrow fill material for the Third Runway embankment that iscurrently being constructedat the 5ea-Tac International Airport. Soils at the Marine View Pit consistof native sand and gravel derived from glacialand related alluvial deposits. Work for the project was completed pursuantto our contract with HNTB dated May 1, 1998, as amended, and the samplingand analysisstrategydescribed in the Hart Crowser proposal dated October 5, 2001. Hart Crowser collected sampleson October 3 and 4, 2001, at the pit locationsidentified on Figure 1.
