Burien City Council candidate Rose Clark announced last week that she has received more endorsements, including the King County Police Officers Guild.
Clark is running against Councilman Stephen Lamphear for council Position 5.
Members of the Police Officers Guild stated they “were impressed with her views and positions on public safety issues.”
Clark led a successful effort to reduce crime in Burien apartment complexes.
She has also been endorsed by the Sierra Club, The Women’s Political Caucus and The Madrona Institute.
The Sierra Club said “color her green, she led the first ever health study to investigate the rates of illness for those who live under the SeaTac flight path.”
The organization added that her strong leadership “held the Port of Seattle accountable for the environmental impacts of the Third Runway.”
The Women’s Political Caucus stated, “Rose Clark is strong on our issues, knowledgeable about the community.”
The Madrona Institute, a Northwest political group committed to building community values, cited “the integrity of her public service record” and her “success in building partnerships.”
Clark is “an exceptional leader committed to open meetings and the highest ethical standards,” the institute said
Clark said these endorsements also reflect her care about “honest and positive election campaigns,”adding, “I will always stand up and fight for the citizens of Burien.”
