National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (2023-2027) B-1 APPENDIX B: NATIONAL AND STATE MAPS EXPLANATION OF MAPS IN APPENDIX B The maps contained in appendix B show the location of all existing NPIAS airports. Airports are identified by the ariport location identifier. Icons identify the airports as “Large/Medium hubs, Small/Nonhub, National/Regional, Local/Basic and Unclassified.” Shading is used to identify Metropolitan Statistical Areas (Metro S.A.) and Micropolitan Statistical Areas (Micro S.A.) as defined by the Office of Management and Budget. Maps of all 3,287 existing NPIAS airports, as delineated below, are shown on the following pages.
