" " Dear Colonel Rigshy: The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has reviewed the referenced public notice to construct a third runway at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The proposed work includes filling of wetlands and rechannelmg portions of Miller Creek, drainagechannels in the Miller Creek basra and portions of Des Moines Creek. Our comments arebased on NMFS' responsibility to protect and enhance marine, estuarme and anadromous fishery resources and their habitats. While there are currently no anadrornous fish species listed pursuant to the Endangered Species Act OESA)present in the project area, there could be in the near future or prior to completion of this project.
