A. Outline/identify the benefits/potential positives for Burien based on proximity to the airport (e.g., jobs, ease of access). (NOTE:This might be ofjoint interest with and work for our Burien Economic Development Partnership (BEDP).) B. Develop a better understanding of current zoning in NERAand along Des Moines Memorial Drive to assess potential opportunities/changes to take more advantage of airport proximity. C. Develop better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Port/FAA/Airlines/ Cityin addressing airport concerns and communicate these to the community. (NOTE:the StART Roundtable is also addressing this) D. Invite /engage Port Commissioners to participate more actively in our community/at events to help educate them on community concerns. E. Outline processes/approach/activities to update noise contour maps used by the FAA/‘Port . F. Inventory and organize the most current air pollution studies on health impacts of SeaTac (and other airports) and succinctly summarize for use in communications. G. Advocate for the Port to address concerns of workforce development and minorities, including more information in multiple languages and pushing to accomplish goals set for minority/small/women owned businesses. H. Gather data to show the environmental justice implications of current Port activities. (NOTE: These data could potentially help inform the SAMP EIS). The Committee also discussed wanting to protect the community, increase communications, and set goals for outcomes/measuring success. The potential priorities will be sent out to the Committee members before the next meeting to rank, with rankings to be complied for discussion at the next meeting. d.
