The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) is voting on July 11 to approve the Third Runway at Sea-Tac Airport with only minimal noise mitigation measures- measures that won't alleviate the impacts felt in your community. The Port of Seattle has not identified any firm means of financing the $3.3 billion proposed expansion of Sea-Tac. When the Port of Seattle comes up short at Sea-Tac, King County taxpayers will cover its debt. The Port can increase its property levy by more than 60°/o without voter approval. KING COUNTY IS THE ONLY COUNTY THAT PAYS!! Elected officials from Kitsap, Pierce, and Snohomish counties will approve the Third Runway, as members of PSRC and yet residents of those counties cannot be taxed by the Port of Seattle!! CALL Gary Locke at 296-4040, the King County Council at 296-1000, Seattle Mayor Norm Rice and the Seattle City Council at 684-8888. Tell them you don't want to be stuck with a multi-billion dollar boondoggle!! Tell them that enough is enough!! WE CAN"T AFFORD IT!!
