Burien Resolution 495

WHEREAS, the Burien City Council adopted Resolution No. 384 on December 19, 2016, creating the Burien Airport Committee (BAC) to address Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (hereafter “Airport”) – related issues; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Burien adopted Resolution No. 405 on January 28, 2019, amending Resolution No. 385, to change the composition of the BAC; WHEREAS, now, the City Council desires to amend the BAC to clarify its advisory purpose better; WHEREAS, the City Council seeks to amend the BAC members’ terms of service to improve continuity; WHEREAS, these amendments have been recommended by a majority of the BAC’s members; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section One. Resolution 405 is hereby amended as follows: Section 1. Committee Established. A Burien Airport Committee (“BAC”) is hereby established to advise the City Council for the following purposes: To discuss and make recommendations to the Burien City Council regarding the positive and negative impacts of the Airport on the City of Burien and to discuss how to protect residents and businesses from excessive noise, harmful particulates, and other dangers or risks; To discuss Airport-related land use issues Page 2 of 3 on the City of Burien, including but not limited to the South Aviation Support Area (SASA), the International Arrivals Facility, and Airport access; To discuss agreements between the City of Burien and the Port of Seattle related to the Airport including but not limited to interlocal agreements; To discuss…
