1. The Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) will result in a significant amount of change at the airport to support increased passenger demand. 2. Provide an overview of the NEPA / SEPA environmental review processes. 3. Provide an update on anticipated technical comments from the City of SeaTac and the 4-city collaborative (Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, and SeaTac). 4. Describe anticipated next steps. PRESENTATION OVERVIEW OVERVIEW • The 2018 SAMP proposes improvements needed at the airport to meet future forecast demand. • There are 31 “near term projects” (NTP) in the SAMP intended to address five airport needs: • Passenger terminal capacity • Cargo facilities • FAA required design • Aircraft delays on the airfield • Fuel storage for projected demand • The 31 NTPs include projects like: taxiway extensions (A01), off-site cargo holding (C02, CO3), changes to traffic circulation (L02, L03), employee parking (L07), and a new terminal and gates (T01, T02) SUSTAINABLE AIRPORT MASTER PLAN (SAMP) SUSTAINABLE AIRPORT MASTER PLAN (SAMP) OVERVIEW & PURPOSE • The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires environmental review of impacts of projects approved by a federal agency. • The purpose of the NEPA environmental review is to: A. Determine if a project will potentially result in negative impacts to the environment B. If there are potential negative environmental impacts: 1. Consider alternatives to the project 2. Mitigate the negative environmental impacts • The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) administers the NEPA review for airport projects that require FAA approval, consistent with the…
