Edmiston v. Port of Seattle – Public Records Act Complaint, September 29, 2022

1.1 On December 1, 2020, Seattle-King County Public Health issued its “Community Health and Airport Operations Related Noise and Air Pollution: Report to the Legislature in Response to Washington State HOUSE BILL 1109” (the “Public Health Report”). The Public Health Report specifically focused upon the community health impacts from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (“Sea-Tac”), operated by the Port of Seattle (the “Port”). Among other things, the Public Health Report conducted a study on the population health impact of the SeaTac airport communities. The 96-page Public Health Report found significant rates of poor public health outcomes that became worse closer one lived to the airport.
